I learned a lot about lead; learned that you don't have to blow your cookies in the first bar. At that time I was playing everything I knew when I took a lead. And he said, "Man , just say it all with one note." He taught me that it was much harder to be simple that to be complicated during solos. IF you blow your cookies in the first bar, you have nowhere to go. Blues is really good that way. It teaches you to develop coherent solos, because the form you're playing over is so basic. You have to develop leads that go someplace.

Promotion Management is taken very lightly, as the term PROMOTER is often used very loosely. there are more levels of "promotion" than booking gigs, and getting kids to go through word of mouth.

Local bands need more than just a promoter to get off their feet, and i strongly suggest you do your role as a Promotion Manager WELL, and dedicate yourself to that.

theres a fellow who added us, suggesting the idea of making our "profitable income on the plus side."

Profit on the plus side?...profit IS on the plus side! THERES NO SUCH THING AS PROFIT ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE! If youre NOT signed to a label, and trying to make money on the PROFITABLE side, i assure you, you will NEED a sugar momma, because theres no way in hell you'll be able to afford food or rent without MONEY. you know, that paper you use to buy drugs and booze with? yeah, that stuff.

Point? local un-licensed promoters...STOP...for the sake of musician's success, STOP! you're HURTING bands by leading them in the wrong direction...now that i think about it, youre making it easier for US...hmm...well, either way, im happy. :-D
